Jens Stoltenbergs Wife, Ingrid Schulerud Where Is She Now?

Ingrid Schulerud, Jens Stoltenberg’s wife, is a Norwegian diplomat. From 2015 to 2019, she represented Norway as ambassador to Belgium.

She is married to Jens Stoltenberg, a former Norwegian prime minister, and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

Jens Stoltenberg announced that he would step down in October 2023. The Nato alliance announced on Sunday that its long-serving leader would step down in October, sparking fresh rumors about who would succeed him.

According to diplomats in Brussels, there has yet to be an agreement on who should succeed former Norwegian prime minister Jens Stoltenberg as the leading civilian representative of the Western alliance.

A proposal to prolong his nine-year tenure to oversee Nato’s reaction to the crisis brought on by Russia’s conflict against Ukraine was being considered by sure allies.

But on Sunday, not long after Stoltenberg had left for essential meetings in Washington, his spokesman announced that he would leave his position at the end of the year.

Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has had his term extended three times, totaling nearly nine years of service, according to spokesperson Oana Lungescu.

The secretary-general has no plans to request a further extension of his mandate when his term expires in October of this year.

With governments already subtly floating candidates in news media leaks, the 63-year-decision to step down will highlight the competition among senior European officials to succeed him.

Even though Washington actually holds the deciding vote when it comes to his or perhaps this time, on her nomination, the secretary general has always been a European.

The decision will be symbolic of Nato’s orientation, even though the day-to-day work involves coordinating with the other 30 allies and attempting to reach a consensus.

Who is Jens Stoltenberg’s wife?

Schulerud is the daughter of novelist and radio host Mentz Schulerud, who is renowned for his encyclopedic knowledge of their hometown of Oslo.

When Schulerud and Jens were 17, they attended Oslo Cathedral School, where they first met. Here, she ran for the Socialist Left Party and defeated her future husband in the election for Representative to the National Students’ Union.

She has opted to adopt a somewhat reclusive social position despite having been the Norwegian Prime Minister’s spouse for two separate periods.

Before their April 2001 trip to India, she did not accompany her husband on official state trips for more than a year during the first phase.

However, she has generally avoided the spotlight to protect her kids. The pair has a daughter and a son.

Their daughter Anne Catharina Stoltenberg was born in 1992. She is a member of the experimental pop and electronic duo Smerz and XL Recordings signed to.

Their son Axel Stoltenberg, born in 1989, is currently a student of Chinese at Shanghai Jiaotong University.
